Phoenix is an independent, specialist organisation that provides therapeutic services to people who have experienced intra-familial (parent, uncle/aunt, sibling, cousin, grandparent) and/or extra-familial (babysitter, priest, teacher, etc.) childhood sexual abuse
Phoenix Clients
Phoenix counselling services are provided for the following client cohorts:

- Adult survivors of historical childhood sexual abuse (CSA), and
- Survivor’s partners, family members or significant others impacted by their disclosure of historical childhood sexual abuse.
Phoenix does NOT work with Adult CSA Perpetrators/Offenders
Phoenix IS NOT:
- A crisis response agency
- A service that provides legal advice, or
- An agency that provides investigative or forensic services relating to child sexual abuse.
Phoenix counsellors can prepare reports for some legal and/or compensation processes depending on staffing capacity at the time. These reports attract a fee-for-service charge.

All Phoenix Counsellors are tertiary qualified professionals with additional specialised training in trauma-informed practice and therapeutic interventions that assist healing and recovery. Counselling fees are on a sliding scale, according to household income.

Counselling is based on a humanistic, person-centred model and draws on a range of therapeutic interventions. An integrative approach is therefore used for addressing thoughts, feelings, behaviours, somatic problems, sexuality issues, and interpersonal styles. Specialised interventions include EMDR.
Phoenix’s sliding fee scale ensures that services are accessible to everyone.
